Text Searches

For text searches not involving logical operators such as OR and AND, you use the Text Search command. This brings up the Text Search dialog box where you can specify your search parameters. These parameters can be used immediately in your search or they can be saved to file for future use. Some of the parameters you can use in your search are

  • Your text. This can be a GREP regular expression if the 'Regular expression' option is checked.
  • Your file specification. For example this could be '*.txt *.doc' so only .txt and .doc files are searched.
  • Your search folder or drives. You can search subfolders if you wish.

Other options give you the ability to search ZIP files, hidden and system files, select particular file formats or parts of files to search, and select files based on the date when they were created or modified.
