Logical Searches
Table of contents     Previous     Next

For text searches which require searching for more than one piece of text and involve logical operators such as OR and AND, you use the Logical Search command. This brings up the Logical Search dialog box where you can specify your search parameters. A maximum of four pieces of text can be used. However if you wish to search for more than four search strings using only the OR logical expression then you can do this using regular expressions.

These parameters can be used immediately in your search or they can be saved to file for future use. Many of the parameters used are identical to those used in text searches. However some of the additional parameters you can use in your search are

  • Your logical expressions such as AND or OR.
  • Your search proximities. These allow you to refine your logical expressions so that they apply to whole files or just a single line for instance.
